Here at Stanfords College, we know that being on the right course, having a quality learning experience and receiving all the support you need, during your time at College is the recipe for success. That's why we have built a dedicated team of staff within Student Services to ensure that you get the best out of your studies, regardless of the challenges or difficulties you may face.
Below we have outlined all the main support services which are available to you at Stanfords College.
Your Tutor
You will have your own personal tutor whom you will see for weekly tutorial sessions. In addition, it is likely that you will also have part or all of your course taught by the same tutor ensuring continuity of support. He/she will play a key role during your time at College and during your weekly tutorials you will have the opportunity to discuss progress and produce targets for improvement and update your individual Learning plan, as well as looking at career and higher education issues and various aspects of personal and social education. If you encounter any difficulties at College or have any questions, your tutor is usually the first person you would go to.
Study Skills
Naturally, we place great importance on you doing as well as possible whilst you are at Stanfords College. Regardless of the course you are studying, you will have the opportunity both formally and on an independent study basis to develop skills in such areas as research and study skills, IT, working as part of a team, time management and organisational skills. In addition, we have a fully equipped Learning Resources Centre packed with all the study materials you will need to make a success of your course.
